More exciting news for the 2017 FFCC Championships! Every class in the FFCC has seen growth this season in all circuits Color Guard, Percussion, and Winds. The FFCC is now the largest single circuit in the state of Florida encompassing more counties and school districts than any other. All of these competitors culminate their season is one huge three day event in Daytona Beach – the FFCC Championships. This year our event has grown to the point where we have had to add divisions to several of our color guard classes. The goal of having divisions is create smaller competitive groupings for more accurate scoring so the teams get good information and can tell exactly what they achieve based on the judging criteria.
The B class and the AAA class have grown to a size where three divisions is an immediate necessity. The Board discussed the AA class and the A class at great length. They decided to use three divisions with them as well for several reasons, the size of the lower classes means many more teams will be promoted to populate the classes more evenly, the circuit shows every indication that next year will also be a year of expansion, and finally putting the divisions in place now will give us the structure for the future.
Championships will be a great celebration of really competitive teams in Color Guard, Percussion, and Winds. If you haven’t bought tickets yet you might want to get them early. Save a little money and avoid confusion and lines BUY TICKETS HERE!
Now that most of the dust has settled with only one week of promotions left, we finally have a better idea of what the schedule and available hours will be for Sunday for the 2017 FFCC Championships. The Board of Directors has been able to make a decision on the “Moving Up” program for the AA Classification.
“Moving Up” is the program we began to give the top five placing teams in each division the opportunity to progress to the next class of competition and compete again. With the growth we have experienced in every class this season, we were afraid we had seen the end of the program because we simply didn’t have time in the day to schedule all of the teams. Fortunately, we have been able to arrange the judging panel on Sunday to have have fewer breaks so that we have created more time in the schedule. While we cannot continue with the top five teams from each division moving forward, we are going to be able to have the top three from each class move up from the AA Class and compete on Sunday in the National A class. The competition between classes is always a favorite friendly rivalry and it is good to know that it is going to continue for this year. Get your tickets for a spectacular show down! With the completion of the FFCC Focus show on February 25, the FFCC Percussion and Winds ensembles are now seeded and heading towards a showdown in Daytona Beach. Over 50 Percussion and Winds Ensembles will battle it out for an FFCC Championship, and in the process, will put on an entertaining show you do not want to miss.
Scholastic Marching AA and Scholastic Marching A classes will be seeded into performance blocks for Championships due to their higher enrollment. The calculation of seeding numbers for all ensembles in these divisions can be viewed below. Factors have been added in to the seeding process to account for earlier performance dates that occurred for some of our Premiere and Focus events. The classes will be divided into three performance blocks, with the performance order scrambled within the block itself. This, along with the performance order for all other Percussion and Winds divisions will be released on Tuesday, March 21st.
All other divisions of Percussion and Winds ensembles will employ a random performance order throughout their division.
Make plans now to attend FFCC Championships in Daytona Beach from March 31-April 2nd at the Ocean Center!
