Board Nominating Committee

As part of a 2017 policy change approved by the membership at last year’s annual meeting, applicants for upcoming vacancies/ending terms on the Board of Directors will be vetted by a nominating committee. Nominees will be shared with the membership prior to this year’s annual meeting so that all members will have the opportunity to review each applicant’s qualifications and position relative to the needs of the Circuit. Voting will occur at the annual meeting, but no nominations will be accepted from the floor.

We are currently taking applications for members willing to serve on the nominating committee, which will be made up of board members whose tenure ends in 2019, directors, and contest staff/judges. Nominating committee members are not eligible to run for a seat on the Board in 2018.

If you are interested in serving on the nominating committee, please fill out this form by Sunday, April 22nd.

Board Nominating Committee

For interested parties to apply to be a part of the nominating committee.
  • If you are a staff member or judge, please enter "FFCC", if you are a director, please list your primary team.

Members of the nominating committee are tasked with reviewing the qualifications of candidates and making unbiased recommendations to the membership based on the needs of the circuit. Nominating committee members are not eligible to apply for board membership in 2018. Committee members are expected to actively participate in all communications, mostly electronic, throughout the review process. As an applicant, I understand the expectations of membership on the nominating committee.

Stoneman Douglas Relief Fund

Thank you to everyone who donated to the FFCC Stoneman Douglas Relief Fund. In under two weeks, over 150 of you have raised more than $6,000. The FFCC appreciates your support of those in need in the marching arts community, and is covering all administrative costs associated with your donation, and the funds will be delivered to the Stoneman Douglas Eagle Regiment to support their needs as they recover from this tragedy.

Our fundraising drive has ended, but we encourage you to contribute to one of the many funds benefitting the victims, survivors, their families, and the school community of Stoneman Douglas High School.

Scholarship Applications Due March 6th!

Martha Stark Memorial Scholarship Information

The FFCC believes strongly that a culture of community and sportsmanship contibutes greatly to building the character of the membership we serve. In keeping with this spirit, the FFCC sponsors The Martha Stark Memorial Scholarship and The Kevin Palus Memorial Sportsmanship Award.

The Martha Stark Memorial Scholarship

Martha Stark, band director at Gainesville HS, was influential in creating and developing the policies and character of the FFCC. She was an inspiration to all who were fortunate to meet her. Her bands at Gainesville High School were continually superior-rated at FBA Festivals, and the Centerstage Color Guard became one of the premier members of the FFCC. She touched thousands of students with her unique brand of caring and support that made those students strive for the highest levels of excellence. In 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer, we lost Martha. In her honor, the FFCC Board of Directors renamed the existing scholarship fund “The Martha Stark Memorial Scholarship Program.” The Program is funded through private donations and sales of FFCC merchandise.

Candidates for the Martha Stark Memorial Scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant must be in their senior year of High School or already attending a College, University or Vocational School.
  • The applicant must attend a College, University or Vocational School for the following academic year.
  • The applicant must be an active marching member of a team who is a member in good standing in the FFCC.
  • Each team may only have one member considered for a scholarship each season.

The number of scholarships awarded each season is dependent on the amount of available scholarship funds. Applications are reviewed by a committee chosen by the FFCC Board of Directors. This committee evaluates and ranks the applications and forwards this to the Executive Board.  Scholarships are granted for one year only, but recipients may reapply the following year if she/he remains an active marching member in the FFCC. The Martha Stark Memorial Scholarships are awarded at FFCC Championships.
