The FFCC is proud to announce the addition of the FFCC Access Scholarship Program, to help performers of color with a financial need to overcome the barrier of access to the marching arts, an issue that has been brought up many times across the country over the past week, but is not a new challenge.
A diverse committee of FFCC administrators and instructors will help establish the program this summer, for scholarships to be awarded for the winter season. This committee, separate from our traditional scholarship committee, will also examine other ways to grow the diversity of our circuit, and support our performers of color throughout their time in the FFCC.
The Access Scholarship Committee includes:
- Carlos Bautista (Freedom Orlando)
- Erin Brown (FFCC Board)
- Dylan Charles (Infinity)
- Cichele Fields (FFCC Board)
- Sabine Francois (University HS)
- Danny Gutierrez (Stryke)
- Michael James (Oviedo)
- Jen Karp (FFCC Board)
- Armando Loney (Tampa Independent)
- Ricardo Robinson (Braden River)
- Kelly Ross (FFCC Board)
- Ashley Smith (USF)
