Percussion Caption Judging Administrator
Using his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from William Paterson University and his Masters of Arts Degree in Music Performance from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ, Ed Argenziano taught in New Jersey, at the secondary level, for 34 years. In this capacity, he instructed students as Director of Band and Orchestra, in Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra and Marching Band, as well as in AP Music Theory and IB Music.
While working as a high school music director, Ed also served as the North Jersey Area Honors Band President and Conductor as well as the New Jersey Allstate Percussion Coordinator. During these years, he also became a Middle College Teacher, in Music Composition and Theory, for Fairleigh Dickinson University, in Madison, NJ.
As an honored highlight in his teaching career, in the winter of 2014, before moving from New Jersey to Florida, Ed Argenziano also served as the Student Performance Coordinator for the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show, featuring Bruno Mars, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and around 1,500 local high school students, recruited from high schools in close proximity to MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, NJ
Upon moving to Florida, Ed became the Fine Arts Department Chairperson and Director of Bands and Orchestra at Clearwater High School in Clearwater, FL. He served in this role from 2014-2016. For the past eight years, Ed has held the position as Percussion Director at Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg, Florida.
While enjoying his time as a music educator, Ed also ventured into other opportunities within the field of music. In 1997, he began composing percussion literature for Rowloff Music Publishers from Nashville, TN. Presently, Ed has published over 25 compositions with Rowloff. A selection
of his work has also been published through Alfred Music. Many of Ed’s original compositions have been performed in countries around the world, including, but not limited to, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Ireland. One of his pieces was even featured on the popular show Australia’s Got Talent.
As an Educational Artist for Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drum Company, REMO Percussion, and Conn-Selmer and Musser/Ludwig Drums, Ed has been a dedicated music and percussion clinician and music adjudicator since 1987. In this capacity, he has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Thailand, and Japan. Presently, he is a music judge for Winter Guard International and Bands of America, serving on the WGI Percussion Advisory Steering Committee for three years. In the past, he also served as the Drum Corps International Percussion Caption Administrator and the Drum Corps Association Percussion Administrator. Ed’s experiences in Drum Corps also extend to the roles he held as the Music and Show Consultant for 2005 Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, the Percussion Arranger and Show Designer
for the 2004 Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps, and as a Percussion Instructor for the Bayonne Bridgemen, Hawthorne Caballeros, and New York Skyliners.
On a personal note, Ed has enjoyed performing on drumset for New York City recording artist Gabriel’s Hold and as a percussionist for the NJ Chamber Society. In his younger years, Ed was also a percussionist for the Hawthorne Muchachos and the Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps.
